How does specific heat capacity affect temperature change for the same energy input?

A high specific heat capacity means a small temperature rise for a given energy transfer; a low specific heat capacity means the substance warms more easily. Different substances behave differently because this value is specific to the material.

What is specific heat capacity?

The energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 kg of a substance by 1 °C.

What are the units of specific heat capacity?

J/kg °C
