Qualification 9CH0 is the full A-level Chemistry course. Its content brings together physical, inorganic and organic chemistry.
What you will study
Study progresses through atomic structure, bonding, quantitative chemistry, periodic trends, energetics, kinetics, equilibria and redox chemistry. Organic reactions, synthesis, spectroscopy and chromatography develop methods for making and identifying substances.
Assessment and practical work
Three written examinations assess subject knowledge, practical understanding and analytical skills. Practical competence is also assessed through the Science Practical Endorsement, which is reported separately from the A-level grade.
